AbstractHerein, we report that the reactivity of genetically encoded SpyTag/SpyCatcher chemistry can be manipulated via redox-gated conformational restriction, which facilitates the preparation of all-protein-based hydrogel with latent reactive sites for subsequent covalent functionalization.
