Abstract We demonstrate the coexistence of exciton magnetic polarons (EMPs) and bound magnetic polarons (BMPs) in novel Co-doped GaN nanoneedles. These exciton-spin or spin-carrier interactions and p-d hybridization related phenomena play a dominant role in their emissions and related characteristics that may find new applications for spin-polarized nanophotonic devices.
