Abstract Because InSAR processing is complex and time-consuming, parallel computing has been drawing more and more attention from researchers. GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) have become an increasingly important parallel platform for image processing in recent years. They are cheap and convenient, compared with large-scale, expensive high performance computing clusters, which have a small marketplace presence. In this paper, a valid parallelism implemented on the GPU is introduced. Taking the flat-earth phase removal for example, we introduced two different techniques that can accelerate applications dramatically on a GPU. From the experiment results, we can see that the result accomplished on the GPU is the same as on the CPU; the two techniques used really work in performance improvement.
